When you create an account, we receive your name, email address, and profile identifier from your chosen sign-in provider (Google, GitHub, or Microsoft). If you subscribe to the paid plan, our payment processor Stripe handles your payment details — card numbers never touch our servers; we store only your subscription status and Stripe customer reference. If you sign up for the email digest, we store your email address and delivery preferences.
To operate the service: authenticating you, delivering the features you pay for, sending the digest you requested, and processing payments. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
We rely on a small set of processors to run Horizon: DigitalOcean (hosting), Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Sentry (error monitoring), and Anthropic (content classification of public news items — never your personal data). Each receives only what it needs to perform its function.
If you report a problem with a story or send feedback, we receive what you put in the form, and only when you press Send: the problem you picked and the words you typed; the story and the page the report is about; whether you sent it from the website or an app; and your email address, only if you ask for a reply. If you are signed in, your plan and an internal account reference go with the report so support can find your account.
We also store a code that lets us count you once when the same problem is reported again. It is different for every problem, so it cannot link your reports to each other. To limit abuse we keep, for two days, a one-way code derived from your network address and the date; it cannot be turned back into the address.
Reports are grouped by problem and passed to Alchemy Lab's own ticketing system, which files each problem as one ticket for our support team. We delete a report 180 days after the last report of its problem; the ticket is kept as support correspondence. To have a report or your address removed, write to [email protected].
We use session cookies strictly for authentication. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Account data is kept while your account is active. You can unsubscribe from the digest via the link in any email. To delete your account and associated data, contact us at the address below and we will remove it within 30 days, subject to records we must keep for tax and accounting purposes.
